Thandiwe Genevieve Scott (she/they)

I am a non-binary writer, performer, and visual artist. Born and raised in NYC, I have developed a love for the eccentricity in the mundane. I see in each moment something to be absorbed and aim to draw connections between my art and the world around me, synthesizing anew with each click of the shutter. Storytelling is my passion, and I have managed to tell tales through a wide range of mediums—a few of which are showcased on this website. While I am the first to embrace the chromatic circle in my wardrobe, I have a great appreciation for black and white photography. So much is held in shades of grey! We are forced to become aware of the light and the dark—where one ends and the other begins—how lines relate to one another, challenging our knowledge of space and time. I would argue that my writing is quite the opposite. My words are colorful and anything but understated. I deal in abstractions as a means to respectfully turn feeling into something tangible. This is why I love poetry; in many ways, it is undefinable, without boundaries. I, raised on the poetry of life, strive to be boundless.
